The chapter examines the impact of supranational organizations on policymaking in the Czech Republic. The question to be answered is to what extent are national policy formulations influenced by international and national expertise – in the context of the direct influence of supranational organizations on national public policy making. We present three case studies from different policy fields: social policy, educational policy and defence policy. We focus predominantly on the processes of problem identification and policy formulation; nevertheless, where necessary, implementation and evaluation of policies is taken into account as well. Based on the three case studies, we offer a tentative assessment on the developmental trends, shortcomings and prospects of the above mentioned processes at the end of the chapter.
