Policy analysis in Israel: a late developer’s story
Israel as a young state is sometimes considered a laggard in terms of policy analysis development. Nevertheless, in the past couple of decades through a process of system maturation and learning, policy analysis in Israel is gradually becoming richer and more diverse. In the introduction, the practitioners, methods, audiences, and influence of Israeli policy analysis are discussed. Although Israeli policy analysis practitioners have benefited considerably from the example set by modern policy analysis trailblazers, especially in the United States, Israel’s unique policy environment entails that its policy analysis evolutionary course markedly differs from that of its role models.
