This chapter examines the educational experiences of minority citizens in Great Britain. It analyses the differences, over time, in the qualification profiles of different minority ethnic groups, and shows that much progress has been made in terms of educational mobility. The chapter reviews explanations for continued educational disparities and suggests that too much attention may have been given to attempts to uncover the reasons for underachievement, while too little has been paid to the reasons for success among those who have made progress.
