This chapter discusses the refugee dispersal policy of Sweden and analyses its outcomes. It studies the explicit dispersal policy and examines the background factors that resulted in the creation of this policy. The chapter is divided into two main parts. The first part references compilations by Jonas Widgren and Maria Appelqvist, as well as reports from several state commissions that have analysed immigration issues over the years. The second part of the chapter, on the other hand, presents an outline of the ‘Sweden-wide’ policy of refugee reception.
