The primary school at the centre of this case study actively engaged with parents and community agencies to join up successfully school and community initiatives in an effort to foster inclusiveness in an ethnically diverse neighbourhood. It was concluded that the commitment of the head teacher, and the impact of a home-school liaison teacher were vital to success. It was noted that once the head teacher left, the durability of the social networks became problematic.
