Overall, the book tries to draw out lessons from the parish planning experience in England. These are addressed to the neighbourhood planning agenda. Some practical lessons emerge from this chapter. In particular, the extent to which communities seek responsibility for planning is contrasted with the responsiveness they have traditional sought from local government.
